Terms of Service for ElectricSteering.com

Last Updated: September 24, 2025

Welcome to ElectricSteering.com, an e-commerce platform operated by Advantage West (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website (the “Site”), including any content, functionality, and services offered on or through the Site. By accessing or using the Site, placing an order, or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Site.

These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and Advantage West. Please read them carefully. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such changes will be effective upon posting on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

1. Use of the Site

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local laws, including consumer protection laws.
  • Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone’s use or enjoyment of the Site, or which may harm us or other users.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the Site or any server, computer, or database connected to the Site.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Site at our sole discretion, without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

2. Products and Orders

All products displayed on the Site are offered subject to availability. We reserve the right to limit quantities, discontinue products, or refuse orders at our discretion. Descriptions, images, and specifications of products are for illustrative purposes only and may not be exact. You are responsible for ensuring that the products ordered meet your needs.

By placing an order, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract and are authorized to use the payment method provided. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will confirm acceptance via email.

3. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and exclude taxes, shipping, and handling fees unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. You agree to pay all charges associated with your orders, including taxes, shipping, and any applicable fees.

Payments are processed through secure third-party payment gateways. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the total amount due. All sales are final upon shipment unless otherwise specified in our Refund Policy (Section 5).

Chargeback Policy: We strive to provide excellent customer service and resolve any issues promptly. However, initiating a chargeback through your credit card issuer or payment provider without first contacting us constitutes a material breach of these Terms. You agree not to initiate any chargebacks for transactions completed on the Site. Instead, you must contact our customer support at [sales@electricsteering.com] to resolve disputes. If a chargeback is initiated, you will be responsible for all associated fees, costs, and expenses, including but not limited to chargeback fees (typically $25–$100 per incident), legal fees, and any lost revenue. We reserve the right to pursue recovery of these amounts through collections or legal action, and repeated violations may result in permanent suspension of your account and ineligibility for future purchases.

This policy is intended to prevent abuse of the payment system and ensure fair resolution of issues, in line with standard e-commerce practices.

4. Shipping

We ship products to addresses within the United States, including California, and to select international destinations. When a product is listed with Free Shipping, the Free Shipping only applies to the Contiguous United States. All other locations, including Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and international destinations, have additional shipping fees. Domestic shipping may include extra charges for expedited shipping, oversized packages, or other special handling requirements, which will be clearly disclosed at checkout. International shipping may incur additional fees, including customs duties, taxes, or import charges, which are your responsibility. All international orders must contact the seller at [sales@electricsteering.com] prior to placing an order. Advantage West may use UPS, FedEx, USPS, or any other shipping carrier at our discretion. We do not ship to any P.O. Box addresses. Shipping times are estimates only and commence once the order has shipped. Delays may occur due to carrier issues, weather, customs processes, or other factors beyond our control.

Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for lost or damaged shipments, including international shipments, unless the carrier is at fault. For international orders, we are not responsible for packages lost or delayed due to customs processes or other international shipping issues.

5. Returns and Refunds

Our Refund Policy complies with California Civil Code § 1723, which requires clear disclosure of return and refund terms for internet vendors. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for defective products or those not as described, provided they are in original condition. For new electric units, returns for refunds must not have been installed on a vehicle and must not have broken plugs or cut wires. Non-defective returns may incur a restocking fee of 15%. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of receiving the returned item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

For full details, please review our separate Refund Policy linked on the Site. All returns must be initiated through customer support by contacting us at [sales@electricsteering.com].

6. Core Return and Deposit Refund Policy

Certain products sold on the Site may require a core return to receive a deposit refund. A “core” refers to the used component (e.g., a steering rack or similar part) that must be returned to us as part of the purchase agreement for specific products. The core deposit amount will be clearly indicated at the time of purchase.

  • Core Return Process: To receive a refund of the core deposit, you must return the core to us within 30 days of delivery of the purchased product. The core must be an original equipment (OE) part; aftermarket parts will not be accepted. The returned core must be in original working condition with no missing parts, no broken plugs or cut wires, and must not be bent, broken, or previously repaired or worked on by anyone other than the original manufacturer. For new electric units, the returned core must not have been installed on a vehicle. You are responsible for paying all costs associated with returning the core to us, including shipping and any applicable fees. Instructions for returning the core, including the return address and any required documentation, will be provided with your order. We accept core return products from addresses within the United States, including California, and from select international destinations. Domestic core return shipping may include extra charges for expedited shipping, oversized packages, or other special handling requirements, which will be disclosed when initiating the return. International core return shipping may incur additional fees, including customs duties, taxes, or import charges, which are your responsibility. All international core return orders must contact the seller at [sales@electricsteering.com] prior to initiating the return. Core return shipping times are estimates only and commence once the core has shipped. Delays may occur due to carrier issues, weather, customs processes, or other factors beyond our control.
  • Core Deposit Refund: Upon receipt and inspection of the returned core, we will issue a refund of the core deposit to the original payment method within 7–10 business days. If the core is not returned within 30 days, is an aftermarket part, or is deemed unsuitable for remanufacturing (e.g., not in original working condition, missing parts, has broken plugs or cut wires, bent, broken, previously repaired, or, for new electric units, installed on a vehicle), the core deposit will not be refunded.
  • Core Return Shipping Terms: Title and risk of loss for core returns pass to us upon delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for lost or damaged core return shipments, including international shipments, unless the carrier is at fault. For international core returns, we are not responsible for packages lost or delayed due to customs processes or other international shipping issues.

7. Warranty Policy

Products purchased from the Site are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase, subject to the following conditions:

  • Warranty Activation: For products requiring a core return, the warranty is activated only upon receipt of the core in acceptable condition within 30 days of delivery, as outlined in Section 6. Failure to return the core within the specified timeframe will void the warranty for the associated product.
  • Warranty Scope: The warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the auto part at our sole discretion. If the auto part sold should prove defective in material or workmanship within the warranty period, return the auto part to us, postage prepaid, along with your sales invoice. Your dated invoice will establish your eligibility for the warranty. We will, at our option, replace or repair the part free of charge and return it to you postage prepaid. Advantage West stamps parts for warranty identification, and any part that has been tampered with, including but not limited to broken plugs or cut wires, will void the warranty. This warranty is offered only to the original purchaser of the part and is non-transferable. This warranty does not cover any expenses incurred in the removal and/or reinstallation of the auto part, including but not limited to expenses for time, rental, labor, or other parts not purchased from us. This warranty covers fixing or replacing the part only. The warranty does not cover damages resulting from misuse, improper installation, accident, modification, normal wear and tear, or repairs performed by anyone other than us. Some products may carry additional or separate warranties provided by the manufacturer; please refer to the product page or documentation for details.
  • Warranty Claims: To make a warranty claim, contact our customer support at [sales@electricsteering.com] within the warranty period. You must provide proof of purchase (your dated sales invoice) and, if applicable, evidence of core return. We reserve the right to inspect the product before approving a warranty claim.
  • Exclusive Warranty and Limitation of Remedies: The express warranty set forth above is exclusive, and no other warranties of any kind, whether statutory, oral, written, expressed, or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, shall apply. There are no warranties which extend beyond the description on the face hereof. The consumer’s exclusive remedies for breach of warranty and our only obligation arising out of or in connection with breach of warranty shall be those stated herein. We expressly disclaim liability for incidental and consequential damages caused by the auto part sold.

8. Intellectual Property

The Site and its entire contents, features, and functionality (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software) are owned by Advantage West or our licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our prior written consent.

9. User Content

If you submit reviews, comments, or other content (“User Content”), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and display such content in connection with the Site. You represent that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights and complies with these Terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ElectricSteering.com, our directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, interns, suppliers, service providers, or licensors shall not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including, without limitation, lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, arising from your use of the Site or any products procured using the Site, or for any other claim related in any way to your use of the Site or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the Site or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the Site, even if advised of their possibility. Because some states or jurisdictions, including California, do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, in accordance with California Civil Code § 1668, which prohibits limitations on liability for certain intentional acts but allows reasonable restrictions in consumer contracts.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Advantage West, its affiliates, and representatives from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your violation of these Terms or use of the Site.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any disputes arising out of or relating to them shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. This choice of law provision is valid under California Civil Code § 1646.3, which allows parties to select California law for contracts involving California residents or performance in California.

Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California. You waive any objection to venue or inconvenience of forum.

We encourage informal resolution of disputes. Before initiating any legal action, you agree to notify us in writing of the dispute and give us 30 days to resolve it.

13. California-Specific Disclosures

As required by California Business and Professions Code § 17538, we provide the following information:

  • Business Name: Advantage West

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights regarding personal information. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how to exercise these rights.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Advantage West. If any provision is held invalid, the remainder shall remain in effect. No waiver of any breach shall constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.
